Pick up from the hotel and proceed towards Bahla, one of the oldest small towns of Oman which was the capital of the local tribe livingthere in the region in the 12th century. As the monumental fort is closed for renovation only a photo stop is planned. Bahla is also famous for its pottery.
You will then visit the spectacular Nizwa Fort with its massive Circular Cannon Tower, one of the most impressive forts in Oman.
You will also visit the Nizwa traditional Souq (the traditiona marcket). The "Souq" is a lively place and an ideal location to purchase handicrafts and souvenirs.
A wide variety of vendors offering their goods in the streets of the Souq from 05:00 am to about midday . Here you can find fish, meat, vegetables, pottery, jewelry, handicrafts and souvenirs which are sold in authentic old market halls that few places can boast.
Especially interesting is the Friday cattle market, when the locals from the nearby Villages come to sell their donkeys, goats, cattle, sheep and chickens in a circus style open market place.
After completing your Souq experience you will proceed to Jabreen Castle which was the old Imam Palace where the visitor is able to capture the medieval atmosphere and view the beautiful hand painted ceilings and carved door frames.
After an impressive cultural day it will time to travel back to your hotel.
